Hype Energy's involvement with Formula 1, goes back further than its current sponsorship of the Sahara Force India F1 team. The company is now led by former F1 driver and 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, Bertrand Gachot.

 

The Hype branding was first seen on the Footwork of Hart FA16s in 1995. Following this, Hype switched to the 1995 World Constructor Champion team of Benetton Renault, for the 1996 season. 

 

In 1997 Hype partnered with conquering Williams Renault F1 team, who won eight of the seventeen races that season, picking up the World Constructors title for the 9th time. The teams pilots, Jacques Villeneuve and Heinz-Harald Frentzen, also came 1st and 2nd in the Driver Championship. 

 

We can say that F1 is an intrinsic part of us and our heritage. We cannot wait for the new Formula One™ season to kick off!
